🌿 Grow Hemp for Hempcrete
Turn Your Fields Into the Future of Sustainable Building
Industrial hemp isn’t just a crop — it's a climate-smart solution with real earning potential. At Lazy Moon Ranch, we’re launching a local hempcrete initiative and partnering with farmers like you to supply the most important ingredient: hemp stalks.
| Crop | Revenue/Acre | Costs | Net Profit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corn | $850–$1,100 | ~$750 | $100–$350 |
| Soybeans | $600–$900 | ~$450 | $150–$450 |
| Hay | $400–$800 | ~$300 | $100–$500 |
| Hemp (baled stalks) | $800–$1,600 | ~$600 | $200–$1,000+ |
| Hemp (processed hurd) | $3,000–$6,000 | $1,500–$2,500 | $1,500–$3,500+ |
Hemp yields based on 4–8 tons/acre and current market rates.
- You Plant It: Use fiber hemp seed and grow it like a grain or cover crop.
- You Bale It: Let it rett in the field, then harvest and round bale like hay.
- We Buy It: We handle processing and pay by the ton. Dry, clean stalks = more $.
- You Profit: Sell raw or partner with us for value-added hurd processing.
Hempcrete is a carbon-negative building material made from the inner core (hurd) of the hemp stalk. It’s mold- and fire-resistant, insulates extremely well, and gets stronger over time. The demand for this sustainable building solution is booming.
- We’re the buyer — no need to hunt for customers.
- Local processing in Central PA — no shipping headaches.
- Get paid for your bales — or earn more through processing partnerships.
- No special equipment required beyond your baler.
We’re currently recruiting 10–20 local farmers for our 2025 season.
